faq – frequently asked questions

We very much appreciate your interest in our cooking classes and your effort to get in touch with us, but we often receive notes asking the same questions, and so we’ve pooled together our most frequently asked questions and posted the answers here for your convenience.

If you don’t find your answer here or have more questions regarding our cooking classes, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

How many students are in each class?
For the most enjoyable and comfortable learning experience, we recommend no more than 6-8 students in each class. This makes for an effective teaching environment and a perfectly intimate setting for individuals, couples, and smaller groups.

Do you offer private cooking classes?
Yes! To hold your own private in-home cooking class, please contact us for pricing and menu suggestions. We will bring over all the necessary equipment along with the recipe ingredients. You provide the guests

Can I purchase a gift certificate for a friend?
Yes. You can purchase your gift certificate online here.

I’ve just signed up for my first cooking class… now what?
Do I need to bring anything to class?

Once we receive your order from Paypal, you will receive an email confirmation from us and you’ll be all set to start cooking!

If you need to cancel or reschedule a class, please view our cancellation policy.

We will provide you with the recipe cards and extra pen & paper if you need and also a chef’s apron for you to wear. (You are also welcome to bring your own apron.) All you need to bring is your appetite and a camera if you wish to take any photos of the food. Some students find it helpful to bring a camera along to class to photograph the various stages of the food preparation for easier reference later on. It’s easy to assume you’ll remember all the steps and not realize until you’re back at home in your own kitchen trying to recreate a recipe, that you’ve forgotten a few key details. It can be a great tool to have on hand.

We do not provide any alcohol (unless it’s required for cooking), but you are always more than welcome to bring your own favorite beverage, bottle of wine or beer, but please drink responsibly. This helps keep our classes affordable while we focus on using more quality ingredients, such as organic fruits & vegetables (locally sourced whenever possible), organic dairy & eggs, grass-fed meats and sustainable seafoods.
